| Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! is a thirty-minute animated series that airs on both Toon Disney and ABC Family in the Jetix block. It debuted on September 18th, 2004, with the pilot episode "Chiro's Girl." The bulk of the earlier seasons takes place on the planet Shuggazoom, which apparently has only one inhabitable region, Shuggazoom City. In the episode "Depths of Fear," we learned that Shuggazoom City is actually built over water and is supported by stabalizing pillars. It is possible that this is the only usable water source on the planet, and may explain why there is only one city. The series leaves itself open to endless possibilities outside of Shuggazoom, as the Super Robot is capable of warp speeds and is able to travel to distant planets and systems. Throughout the show, there are several references to other science fiction titles. Star Wars references litter the series, the most obvious being the army of Chiro Clones (Clone Wars), the Jedi reference in "Antauri's Masters," and Otto discovering something he called an "A TK-421," which was the serial number of a Storm Trooper in Star Wars: A New Hope. One of the most obvious references is to shows such as Voltron and Power Rangers. The Super Robot splits into separate parts that each team members pilots, ala classic Japanese sentai (fleet or squadron) style. Other references include Speed Racer, Army of Darkness, and Ghost in the Machine. The entire series has a definate anime-inspired feel to it, with an abundance of hidden 1980's humor woven in. The series is currently in its third season, averaging fourteen episodes per season. A fourth season has been scheduled, though it is unknown at this point if there will be a fifth or more. |

Chiro
voice: Greg Cipes (rock!) pilots: Torso Tank Driver 1 The hero of the show, Chiro was a quiet and timid thirteen year old - until he stumbled accross the Super Robot. Letting his curiosity get the best of him, Chiro activated the Robot and absorbed the mysterious Power Primate, awakening the Monkey Team in the process. From that point on, he became the leader of the Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce, Shuggazoom City's sworn guardians. Most of Chiro's attacks are lightning based, such as the Chiro Spearo, Thunder Punch and Lightning kick. He eventually gains control of Antauri's powerful Monkey Mind Scream, and his greatest weapon - the giant ape-like shield known as the Inner Primate. His name is derived from the Japanese word "ichiro," which means "hero." |

Antauri
voice: Kevin Michael Richardson pilots: Brain Scrambler Pilot 2 Antauri is seccond in command and the Monkey Team's spiritual advisor. Quiet and mysterious, Antauri is also Chiro's mentor and father figure, teaching him how to control the Power Primate. His most common attacks are Monkey Mind Scream, Phase and Daze, and Claw Disrupter, in which he uses his glowing hands to (apparently) disrupt or reverse the energy flow of whatever they touch. His body was destroyed at the end of season two, but he was resurrected in season three as the Silver Monkey. |

Sprx-77
voice: Corey Feldman (hells yeah!) pilots: Fist Rocket 3 Sprx-77, or Sparks for short, is the smart-aleck of the group. Always the comedian, he usually finds a way to turn any situation into a joke, mostly just annoying the others. He and Gibson act very much like brothers to each other. His relationship with Nova is somewhat in question, though it appears to be a love/hate situation, as he teases her often. All of Sprx's attacks are based on magnetism, such as the Magne-Tingler Blast and Magno-Field Shield. |
![]() |
Gibson
voice: Tom Kenny pilots: Fist Rocket 4 Gibson is the Chief Science Officer of the team, and usually the voice of blunt reason. His full name is Mr. Hal Gibson, and he can almost always be found chattering out explainations using overly complex vocabulary. His weapons are Robovac Drills, which house a wide variety of weapons and general gadgets (including, oddly enough, insulation foam). |

Otto
voice: Clancy Brown pilots: Foot Crusher Cruiser 5 Otto is the team mechanic, and knows the inner workings of the Super Robot like the back of his hand. He is also responsible for most of his teammate's body repairs. Despite his genius with mechanical engineering, Otto seems to be rather dim-witted in most other aspects. His weapons are Saw Hands, and one of his more common attacks is Whirling Destructo Saws. |

Nova
voice: Kari Wahlgren pilots: Foot Crusher Cruiser 6 Nova is the only female of the team, and one of the only females in the series. She is, however, the strongest fighter of the group, using her giant fists to smash, pummel and clobber anything that gets in her way. Nova also has a nasty temper (something Sprx should be quite familiar with, given the daily threat of a knuckle sandwich compliments of the gold monkey). Nova's attacks include Lady Tomahawk and Knuckle Duster - But there's a reason her name is Nova. She has an rarely seen and extremely destructive ability to increase her body temperature beyond what most life forms can tolerate. |

Jinmay voice: Ashley Johnson Jinmay, Chiro's girlfriend, is a support character in the show. She is a robot, originally employed by the Skeleton King to destroy the Hyperforce, but has since been a protagonist. At the beginning of season three, the Hyperforce left her in charge of protecting Shuggazoom City during their absence, essentially making her an honorary Hyperforce member (notice her outfit matches Chiros). At this point in the series it is unknown who actually built her and for what purpose. So far she has only made appearances in "Chiro's Girl," "Hidden Fortress," "Skeleton King," and "The Savage Lands." We also see a tiny snippet of her in "The Skeleton King Threat," "Meet the Wigglenog," and "Belly of the Beast." navie says: Jinmay is by far my favorite character in the show. Unfortunately the writers seem to have a nasty habit of forgetting she exists *cough*GirlTrouble*cough*. Nooo, it doesn't matter if she's Chiro's true love or anything. They only bring her in when it serves a serious plot purpose, and any other time they don't even mention her. Grr. *shakes an angry fist* |

Skeleton King
voice: Mark Hamill Yeah, that's right. Mark Hamill. Skeleton King is the main antagonist for seasons one and two. He seems to derive his power from a dark ooze that fills his fortress: the Citadel of Bone. SK commands the formless, and has used Mandarin, the Sun Riders, the Circus crew and many others to further his sinister plots. He merged with the Dark One Worm at the end of season two, and the Hyperforce left Shuggazoom to pursue him. The Dark One Worm was destroyed at the end of "Belly of the Beast," but SK's head apparently survived, rescued by the upgraded TV Monster. |

Mandarin
voice: James Hong pilots: (originally) Torso Tank Driver 1 Mandarin was the original leader of the Hyperforce. He was so powerful that he felt himself superior to humans, and attempted to conquer Shuggazoom to become it's 'rightful leader.' The rest of the team managed to stop him, and he lay dormant in the HOOP until Chiro inadvertantly awoke him in "The Secret of the Sixth Monkey." He served under Skeleton King for several episodes until his demise in "Versus Chiro", and again as a clone in "I, Chiro." He came back (again!) in "Belly of the Beast," and is apparently undead from his exposure to the Dark One's digestive track. |

The Sun Riders
voices: Tom Kenny (Johnny Sunspot) Meredith Salenger (Aurora Six) Keone Young (Super Quasier) The Sun Riders were originally just television actors and Chiro's idols. They eventually wanted more, however, and took the power offered by Skeleton King and attempted to take down the Hyperforce. The were defeated in a most unconventional way, and were not seen again until their return in season two with "The Sun Riders Return." They are now considered protagonists in the series, and guard the volcanic diamond mining colony on the planet Delta Five. |

Gyrus Krinkle
voice: Jeffrey Combs Gyrus Krinkle was a CleanOps technition in "A Man Called Krinkle." Fueled by his unhealthy obsession with Chiro and the Hyperforce, Krinkle planted a fake birthday present for Chiro, the seemlingly harmless toy actually being the device that would grant him access to the Super Robot. He succeeded in hypnotizing the monkeys (even Antauri!), but thanks to Chiro's quick thinking, they were able to break free of his spell and defeat him with a little reverse psychology. Krinkle was then sent to a padded room in a mental institution, where it is presumed he still is, wrapped up in his fantasy of being leader of the Hyperforce and pilot of the Super Robot's ears. |

Mobius Quint
voice: Lance Henriksen Mobius Quint made his only appearance in "The Hunt for the Citadel of Bone." A galaxy-class pilot, Quint meets the Hyperforce when the wreckage of his ship The Last Chance is found floating in space, destroyed by fragments of the Citadel. He briefly falls under the control of the Citadel and becomes consumed with revenge, and takes the Super Robot's neutron generator to try and destroy the Citadel. Chiro got him out in time, and he hasn't been seen since. |

The Circus Crew
The Circus crew appeared only in "Circus of Ooze." They attempted to destroy the Hyperforce while under the control of Skeleton King's dark ooze, using it to turn everyone, including Chiro, into clowns. The entire circus consists of The Ringmaster, the Jungle Girl, and the Clown. The team managed to break SK's hold on them, and they have yet to appear in another episode. |
| The Felines of Kathuri
The Kathurian cat people were seen only in "The Stranded Seven." Once a warrior tribe, the long-lasting peace they knew eventually domesticated them. The Hyperforce encountered the tribe when the Super Robot was brought down by a swarm of Mantidons, insects that had been mutated by the Skeleton King Worm. The Kathurians and the Hyperforce banded together to defeat the Mantidons, bringing peace to the village. They left shortly thereafter and have yet to return. |

Greg Cipes
role: Chiro dob: 4 Jan 19?? Playing the role of our beloved hero is Greg Cipes, best known in the animation world for his role as Beastboy in Teen Titans. Greg is an accomplished actor with an ever-growing list of credits. He's also a very talented musician with an amazing vocal range, and he's a professional surfer, too! Greg is also a vegitarian, just like Beastboy. |

Kevin Michael Richardson
role: Antauri dob: 24 Oct 1964 The wonderful baritone we all love as Antauri is none other than Kevin Michael Richardson. Kevin has a list of animated credits longer than your arm, ranging from General Wells of Justice League, the Joker in The Batman, and Skulker in Danny Phantom. He has also been seen in Teen Titans, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and Family Guy. |

Corey Feldman
role: Sprx-77 dob: 16 July 1971 The comedian of the team is appropriately played by Corey Feldman. Most noted for his childhood roles in such legends as The Goonies, Stand By Me and The Lost Boys, Corey has since taken up voice acting and smaller movie roles. He also is an avid musician, launching his music carreer in the late 1990's, and appearing on VH1's The Surreal Life. He and his wife Susie celebrated the birth of their son Zen Scott Feldman on August 7th, 2004, just before the show debuted! And, like Greg, Corey is a vegitarian. |

Tom Kenny
role: Gibson dob: 13 July 1962 The chatterbox Gibson has the one and only Tom Kenny to credit for his voice. Best known as Spongebob in Nickelodeon's smash hit Spongebob Squarepants, Tom has an amazing ability to manipulate his voice to suit almost any role, and has played many minor and support roles on SRMTHG. He has also been seen in Powerpuff Girls, Spyro the Dragon, Cow and Chicken, Codename Kids Next Door, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends (as Eduardo!), and in Final Fantasy X as Rin, Wantz, and Bobba. And the list goes on and on and on... |

Clancy Brown
role: Otto dob: 5 Jan 1959 Apparently these voice actors like to follow each other to roles, because the lovable Otto is played by none other than Mr. Krabs from Spongebob Squarepants! A classically trained actor, Clancy also played Victor Kruger in 1986's The Highlander, and in the sci-fi action movie Starship Troopers as Career Sergeant Zim. Both his father and grandfather were US Representatives from the 7th district of Ohio. Clancy is married to Jeanne Johnson, with whom he has two children. |

Kari Wahlgren
role: Nova dob: ??? If you've watched FLCL, you may have noticed that Haruko Haruhara sounds awfully familiar! The vast majority of Kari's credits are for her voice roles, and for good reason. Much like Tom Kenny, Kari has an amazing talent with manipulating her voice, able to go from an old hag to a little girl in no time flat. She has also played in Samurai Champloo as Fuu, Star Ocean: Til the End of Time as Mirage, and played the lead role in Witch Hunter Robin. |

Ashley Johnson
role: Jinmay dob: 9 August 1983 Ashley is none other than Terra from Teen Titans - rather interesting, given the parallels between her and Greg's roles between the shows. About half of Ashley's credits are listed as guest appearances on television shows. Her most notable major Hollywood production was in What Women Want as Alex Marshall. |
![]() |
Mark Hamill
role: Skeleton King dob: 25 Sept 1951 That's right, kids, Mark Hamill! Most well-known for his role as Luke Skywalker in the first three productions of Star Wars, Mark can also be noted for his role as the Joker in several installments of the animated Batman series. Due to his unfortunate typecasting as a result of Star Wars, Mark has stayed away from large Hollywood productions, discovering his amazing talents as a voice actor. He has also played in Spawn: The Animation, and, ironically, as The Larry 3000 in Time Squad, who bears an uncanny resemblance to C3PO. |

James Hong
role: Mandarin dob: 22 Feb 1929 Simply due to the amazing amount of time James Hong has spent as an actor, it would be impossible to list more than a few of his notable credits. Originally studying Civil Engineering at the University of Minnesota, James became interested in acting along the way. He played Chi-Fu in Disney's Mulan, and Hannibal Chew in 1982's Blade Runner. He also plays Dalong Wong in Jackie Chan Adventures, and Professor Chang in Teen Titans. |
| Ciro Nieli
Creator, Director, Executive Producer, Writer dob: 5 Feb 1974 And what kind of webmistress would I be without mentioning Ciro? As the creator of the show, we have him to thank for our obsessive monkey fandom. Born in Hitchin, Herts, England, Ciro has been a sci-fi fan his whole life, being especially partial to Star Wars. He has also directed several episodes in Cartoon Network's Teen Titans, and is also a storyboard artist in the flash-based animation ˇMucha Lucha!. Ciro enjoys collecting Star Wars figurines, and is rumored to have well over 100 at this point. |
| Fumio Maezono
Director dob: ??? Wish I could say more about Fumio... but I have yet to find out anything. |
| Henry Gilroy
